After School Programs
We offer two after school programs at Pleasant Elementary to help our parents, who work beyond the school day hours, make sure that their children are safe and supervised. Student Activities
Pleasant Pride Pennants and Pins
The Pleasant Pride Pennant is an ongoing award that students earn at Pleasant Elementary School.
We give the pennant to students once they enroll at Pleasant Elementary. All students may earn pins by participating in various activities which they attach to their pennant. The purpose of this award is to recognize well-rounded individuals who exemplify the qualities that Pleasant Elementary hopes to foster in all of its students. The Pleasant Pride Pennants travel with the student each year they are enrolled at Pleasant Elementary. Students will see their pennants displayed in their classroom for the entire school year. After completing 5th grade at Pleasant Elementary, the students take home the pennants as a symbol of remembrance. Pins vary by grade and awards are for various accomplishments. Pleasant Choir
The Pleasant Choir meets once a week and is for students who are in grades 3rd – 5th grade.The weekly practice happens during students’ PE time. Those students who enjoy singing and performing are encouraged to sign-up. Throughout the year the Pleasant Choir performs at various school functions, across the district for different functions, and joins other choirs yearly at the end of the year for a culminating performance. Under the direction of Mrs. Usher and Mrs. Ray, the choir is just one way to get involved at school.
Noon-Time Sports
Designed for 4th and 5th graders during their lunch time, Mr. LaBelle runs a multi-sport noon-time league. Throughout the year students participate in football, basketball, softball, track, and soccer. Teams are formed and play double elimination tournaments for each sport. The top two teams get to play staff members in that respective sport and the top finishing team is awarded with a special pen for their pennant.
Student Council
Under the guidance of Ms. Kelley and Mrs. Richardson, student council members run officer positions and class representatives. This group is composed of 4th and 5th grade students. These students organize daily equipment check out, assist with noontime sports & assemblies; create dress-up days and other fun opportunities to compete in the annual “Class of the Year” competition.
